COVID-19: Nigerian doctors kick against planned resumption of schools in Cross River

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Cross River State has warned the state government against its plan to commence a trial resumption of schools. The Cross River government plans to open three public schools in each of the three Senatorial Districts across the State on June 16th. Nigerian Cross Rivers State Govt not shutting down schools, public or private

The Cross River State Ministry of Education has faulted the announcement by the Ministry of Health, ordering that all schools in the state be closed down over the novel coronavirus. The Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu, in a press on Friday, had ordered the closure of all schools and banned every public gathering that has over 100 people including political rally. A piece of land belonging to the Nigerian Navy and meant for the construction of a Navy Hotel has become a cause of friction between the Navy and Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State.
