Chilean copper miners threaten strike over alarming increase in Covid-19 cases

A group of illegal manganese miners in Chingola’s Luano area have been directed to halt operations until they obtain relevant documentation for mining activities. Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo who visited the site was in shock that some illegal manganese mining activities were taking place in Luano. He said the group had been directed to immediately stop operations and asked them to formalize their status.
